NORFOLK-- The "Jingle Bell Blood Drive", sponsored by the American Red Cross and 13News Now, was a big success. The drive at four area malls between December 20th and 24th collected 415 pints of blood.
All types are needed as blood supplies typically dip near the holidays and in the winter months.
“This year, give the gift that spreads more than holiday cheer – a blood donation at the ABC13 Jingle Bell Blood Drive. Each time you give blood, your donation can help save three lives,” said Page Gambill, CEO of the American Red Cross Mid-Atlantic Blood Services Region. “Together we can help spread hope this holiday season by giving something that doesn’t cost a thing, but can offer so much more.”
This has been a holiday tradition in the Hampton Roads area for over 40 years.
While the drive is over, the need for blood is always there. Click here to schedule an appointment with the Red Cross to donate.
