SMITHFIELD - Music, art and a silent auction highlight the 2012 Gala to benefit the Isle of Wight County Schools.
Since launching the Students First Gala and Auction in 2007, the Education Foundation has provided nearly $190,000 in grants to Isle of Wight County Schools.
This year, the event takes place October 20 at the Smithfield Center, 220 N. Main Street beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $75.00.
This year's theme is 'The Arts' with black & silver as the colors. The night will feature a performance from the SHS Jazz Band as well as remarks from two of our very own teachers who were grant recipients last year.
