Norfolk sheriff hosts free summer camps

NORFOLK-Wondering what your children can do once school's out for the summer? Perhaps a free camp will be just what they will find fun.

Norfolk Sheriff Bob McCabe is hosting a free Summer Youth Camp as well as the annual free Sports Camps (for Basketball and Football) for Norfolk school age students.

The Summer Youth Camp runs daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Camp Apasus, the Girl Scouts Camp in Norfolk, from June 24 to July 26.

Applications are being taken now for youngsters between the ages of 10 and 14. Transportation is available.

Officials say there's a camp each week for 40 children and youngsters are eligible to attend one week only.

There's even a couple of days set aside just for girls - July 1 through 3.
