VIRGINIA BEACH -- Project Healing Waters supports the physical and emotional rehabilitation of wounded warriors and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities.

A big fundraiser for that program is Thursday, May 15, at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art in Virginia Beach from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.   The event will include the current Fly Fishing Film Forum and special speaker Stu Apte, a legendary salt water fly fisherman.

Three of the more than 160 programs across the country are in Hampton Roads -- at the Hampton Veterans Hospital, Portsmouth Regional Medical Center and Ft Eustis.  There is no cost to the participants and all instruction is done by volunteers, mostly from the Bill Wills Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Virginia Coastal Fly Anglers Club.

More information is available on the Project Healing Waters Web site.
