VIRGINIA BEACH- “Turn Over A New Leaf” is the theme for the Sept. 15 Fall Gardening Festival sponsored by the Virginia Beach Master Gardener Association.

The 13th annual festival runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Virginia Tech’s Hampton Roads Agricultural Research and Extension Center at 1444 Diamond Springs Road, Virginia Beach.

Talks will focus on garden makeovers, including planning, design and sustainability, making the most of small spaces with pots and containers, and proper selection of trees. Also, there will be a plant sale, a plant doctor, and numerous practical demonstrations on topics ranging from composting to pruning.

The group says this free program has become one of Southeast Virginia’s most popular gardening events. More than 2,000 people showed up last year.
