NORFOLK - PrideFest 2014 is Saturday, August 23, from noon to 7 p.m.
PrideFest, now in its 26th year, is the largest annual LGBT festival in Southeastern Virginia. Entertainment, vendors, and fun activities for all ages as people rally for and celebrate equality.
Free admission. Headliner is Legendary Dance Diva Deborah Cox.    

PORTSMOUTH - 44th Annual Seawall Art Show is August 23-24. Hours: Saturday: 10 am - 6 pm Sunday: 10 am - 5 pm
With more than 30 years experience showcasing juried fine arts and fine crafts on the Portsmouth waterfront, the Seawall Art Show draws large crowds of art buyers to this prestigious event. With the assistance of the Portsmouth Museum and Fine Arts Commission, it is an all volunteer run show. Show proceeds always go to support the arts in Portsmouth.

Admission to the show is free, as is the street parking on the weekend.

HAMPTON - The Virginia Hot Rod & Custom Car Show + Southern Fried Music Festival is August 23 and 24 at the Hampton Coliseum.
It's two huge events in one with tons of activities, delicious BBQ, live music and lots more.
• The Virginia Hot Rod & Custom Car Show is an outdoor car show with over 300+ spots. Classics, Hot Rods, Vintage, Restored Muscle Cars, trucks and motorcycles. • The inaugural Virginia BBQ Championships - Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned Professional-Amateur competition. • A family zone including bounce houses,a cool-down tent, and a "Design your own Hot Rod" event for the kids.
