ABDUCTED: Virginia State police issue 'Ashanti Alert' for 19-year-old

PAMPLIN, Va. (WVEC) — The Virginia State Police issued a Critically Missing Adult Alert for a 19-year-old from Pamplin, Virginia.

Megan Lorraine Metzger was last seen on July 17. She is 5'5" and weighs 150 pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. Police are still working to confirm the last physical location she was seen.

Officials believe she has been abducted and in danger. She may also need medical attention.

State police are focused on the connection between Metzger and the white 2004 Mazda 4-door compact sedan that was found on Thursday in Westmoreland County. The vehicle was set fire and 19-year-old Juan Benavidez II, of King George, Va., has been charged with the vehicle arson.

The registered owner of the Mazda is Metzger. Benavidez and Megan are acquaintances.

Benavidez was apprehended on Friday, and they are investigating the vehicle fire.
