Search warrant leads to guns, drugs seized in Newport News

Seven people are facing charges after police found guns and drugs inside a Newport News home Thursday night.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Seven people have been charged after police said they found guns and drugs inside a Newport News home.

Officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1600 block of Ivy Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday. According to investigators, two handguns, suspected marijuana, and oxycodone pills were seized.

Seven people are now facing charges:

  • 28-year-old Yolanda Walker - summoned/cited for: (1) DRUGS: POSSESS MARIJUANA, 1ST OFF and five (5) counts of CONTRIBUTE TO DELINQUENCY OF MINOR.
  • 28-year-old Timothy White - summoned/cited for: (1) DRUGS: POSSESS MARIJUANA, 1ST OFF.
  • 21-year-old Taekwon Green - summoned/cited for: DRUGS: POSSESS MARIJUANA, 1ST OFF.
  • 21-year-old Trashon Williams - summoned/cited for: (1) DRUGS: POSSESS MARIJUANA, 1ST OFF.
  • 24-year-old Fernando Holland - summoned/cited for: (1) DRUGS: POSSESS MARIJUANA, 1ST OFF.
  • 28-year-old Canton McGowan - arrested for: (1) DRUGS: POSSESS MARIJUANA, 1ST OFF and (2) FIREARM: POSS BY NON-VIOL FELON CONV NOT W/IN 10Y
  • 24-year-old Linwood Boyd - arrested for: possession of schedule I/II narcotics and possession of marijuana first offense.
