Police name suspect in Portsmouth homicide

PORTSMOUTH---Police have named a suspect in the Sunday afternoon killing of a 23-year-old Portsmouth man.

Robert Lee Riddick, 21, is wanted in the slaying of Eric Huckoby.

The shooting took place shortly after 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Sixth Street.

Authorities told 13News the two men got into an argument which quickly escalated and turned deadly.

Police believe Riddick pulled out a gun and shot Huckoby.

Riddick's last known address is the 1600 block of Maple Avenue in Portsmouth. He's described as a black male, 5'9", 135 lbs. with tattoos.

Police say Riddick is wanted for murder and use of a firearm.

Friends of the victim told 13News he was picking up his daughter when the shooting happened.
