PORTSMOUTH---A mother was charged for leaving her three year old daughter alone, early Sunday.
Just after 1a.m. Sunday, police were called to the 3300 block of Deep Creek Boulevard where they found the toddler crying and alone on a strangers porch.
Officers knocked on several doors before discovering the toddler had wandered a few doors down from her house.
police tell 13News, the child's mother, Kenya Scott, was arrested and charged with child endangerment.
Sunday afternoon, Scott had very few words for 13News cameras.
"I'm going to get my daughter back. I know the facts " said 33-year-old Scott.
The little girl remained in protective custody Sunday evening. In order for her child to return to her, Scott will have to explain to a judge why her daughter was out so late unsupervised.
