One of the newest additions to the FBI's "ten most wanted" has ties to Hampton Roads.
James Springette was born in the US Virgin Islands and the feds told 13News he was a major cocaine supplier to a Norfolk-based drug ring busted in 1996. They also say Springette is an escapee from a maximum-security prison in Columbia.
Back in 1996, a drug dog, sniffing overnight parcels, broke open a Norfolk-based cocaine ring that eventually put two brothers in federal prison.
Eugene and Mitchell Smalls are both serving life terms for their roles in the ring that imported kilos of cocaine into Hampton Roads. Investigators say Springette was their supplier.
